Drug Formulation

Half a liang of Baiwei, 3 fen of Ginseng, 3 fen of Gaoben, 3 fen of Pu Huang, 3 fen of Sichuan Aconite, 3 fen of Danshen, 2 fen of Evodia, 2 fen of Bi Zi Ren, 2 fen of Fangfeng, 2 fen of Houpo, 2 fen of Xixin, 1 liang and 1 fen of Cinnamon Bark, 1 liang and 1 fen of Dried Ginger, 1 liang and 3 fen of Angelica,Chuanxiong 1 liang 3 fen, Raw Rehmannia 8 liang, Ze Lan 2 liang 1 fen (Except for Cinnamon Bark, pound all the above ingredients together; sift through a horsehair sieve to obtain a coarse powder; stir-fry thoroughly until brown but not burnt; allow to cool, then pound again into a fine powder; mix evenly with the Cinnamon Bark powder; then divide into two portions;Wait until they are fully combined; then take half of the second mixture and add it to this mixture; then take half of this mixture and add it to the second mixture (form into pills as described below), Corydalis 3 fen, Schisandra 3 fen, Angelica dahurica 3 fen, Atractylodes macrocephala 3 fen, Acorus tatarinowii 3 fen,Poria 1 liang, Platycodon 1 liang, Selaginella 1 liang, Sichuan pepper 1 liang, Astragalus 1 liang, White Cnidium 1 liang 3 fen, Licorice 1 liang 3 fen, White Peony 1 liang 3 fen, Gypsum 1 liang.

Processing

Pound all the above herbs together (except gypsum) with a mortar and pestle; sift through a horse-tail sieve to obtain a coarse powder. Stir-fry thoroughly until brown; allow to cool, then pound again as before to obtain a fine powder. Add gypsum and mix thoroughly. Divide the mixture into two portions; combine one half with the previous preparation and mix evenly. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

For any of these conditions, take 3 qian of the “Qian San” powder mixed with warm wine, followed by 30 of these pills; for regular use, take 2 qian of the powder, followed by 20 of these pills.
