Drug Formulation

Wulingzhi (removed of sand and stones, ground) 2 liang 5 qian; selected cloves 1 qian (ground into powder); croton seeds half a liang (shells and arils removed, finely ground; mix with the above two ingredients until uniform).

Form into pills the size of a millet grain using jujube pulp.

Instructions for Use

Adjust the dosage according to the patient’s age and condition: 5–7 pills for children aged 2 and older; 10 pills for those aged 3 and older. Administer with a decoction of cloves and patchouli, cooled beforehand.After taking the medicine, wait two shichen; do not give breast milk or food. Once the patient has had more than 12 bowel movements, administer the tonic Si Sheng Wan; if the patient experiences restlessness and fever or chest distress after vomiting, administer Si Shun Yin Zi. These three formulas belong to the same therapeutic category. This formula is suitable for robust children with food-induced stagnation; for those with deficiency, the dosage should be adjusted with caution.
