Drug Formulation

2 liang of willow bark (chopped), 2 liang of locust tree bark (chopped), 6 liang of yellow丹, 1 liang of dragon’s blood resin (powdered), 1.5 liang of myrrh (finely ground), 1 liang of white pine resin, 1 liang of wax, 1 liang of white polygonum (chopped), 1.5 liang of agarwood, and 2 jin of oil.

Processing

First, place the oil in a cauldron and simmer the Salix bark and Sophora bark over low heat; then add the white Polygonum,Qilin Jie, pine resin, and Agarwood, and continue simmering; when the willow bark turns yellowish-black, strain out the residue through cotton, return the liquid to the cauldron for a second simmer, then add the Mitodong, along with the Yellow Dan, wax, and other ingredients. Stir continuously with a willow wood paddle without stopping; when the color turns black, drip the mixture onto a cool surface to check for the desired consistency; once the ointment is ready, store it in a porcelain container.

Apply a thin layer to soft cloth and apply to the affected area; change the dressing twice daily.
