Drug Formulation

4 liang of Zhi Ke (soaked in rice water, pith removed; stir-fry in four separate batches: 1 portion with 1 liang of Cang Zhu—boil until dry, stir-fry until yellow, then remove the Cang Zhu; 1 portion with 1 liang of radish seeds—boil with water until dry, stir-fry until yellow, then remove the radish seeds;1 portion of Fennel Seed (1 liang), boiled with water until dry, stir-fried until yellow, then remove the fennel seed; 1 portion of Dry Lacquer (1 liang), boiled with water until dry, stir-fried until yellow, then remove the dry lacquer), Cyperus Rhizome (2 liang),1 liang of areca nut, 1 liang of Corydalis (lightly stir-fried), 2 liang of Acorus tatarinowii (prepared using the same method as Curcuma zedoaria), 1 liang of Curcuma zedoaria (Acorus tatarinowii and Curcuma zedoaria are treated as a single ingredient: soak in 1 zhong of a child’s urine overnight; the next day, add 30 shelled Croton seeds, boil with water until dry, stir-fry until yellow, then discard the seeds).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Boil a decoction using Atractylodes lancea, aniseed, radish seeds, and dried lacquer; add one bowl of good vinegar; and mix with a wheat flour paste to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
