Drug Formulation

3 liang of borax, 1 liang of mercury, 1 liang of cinnabar, and 3 liang of sulfur.

Processing

For the above ingredients, grind the borax and sulfur together until fine as flour. Place the mixture in a porcelain box, seal it securely according to standard procedure, and allow it to dry. Place the box in an ash furnace with a layer of ash 3 cun thick on top. Use 3 liang of fire to cure it for 7 days. Remove the medicine, add 1 fen each of mercury and cinnabar, and grind them together until all traces of mercury are gone. Return the mixture to the box as before and cure for another 7 days. Repeat this process four times, totaling 28 days, then remove the medicine.Grind it finely, wash it with water, and place it in a bamboo tube. Seal the opening tightly and steam it over cooked rice for two full cooking cycles. While still hot, remove it, place it on the ground on a layer of paper, and cover it with a basin for one full cycle; this removes the fire toxicity. Use millet rice to form pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 pills daily on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine. After 10 days, increase the dose to 5 pills.
