Processing

Immediately place all the above herbs in the oil and let them steep for 5 days. Then, transfer the mixture to a pot and simmer. Remove the herbs, strain them, and dry them thoroughly. Grind the herbs into a fine powder, return the powder to the oil, and simmer again. Add the following additional ingredients: 3 qian of cinnamon bark, 7 fen 5 li of musk, 3 qian of realgar, 3 qian of borneol, 2 liang of storax oil, 3 qian of frankincense, 3 qian of white cardamom, 3 qian of wood fragrant, 3 qian of myrrh, 3 qian of cloves,3 qian of San Can Sha, and 3 qian 5 fen of Asafoetida. Grind each of the above herbs into an extremely fine powder, then decoct them in oil to form a paste; it is ready when a drop of the paste forms a bead when dropped into water. Reserve all San Can Sha, Asafoetida (decocted), and Orpiment for use.

Instructions for Use

1. To treat chronic or recent chest pain, apply a patch to the Zhongwan acupoint; 2. To treat malaria of varying severity, apply a patch to the Feishu acupoint; 3. To treat the “Five Exhaustions” and “Seven Injuries,” as well as pain in the tendons and bones throughout the body and weakness in the lower back and knees, apply patches to both Gaomang acupoints, both Shenshu acupoints, and both Zusanli acupoints;4. To treat left-sided paralysis and right-sided weakness, numbness in the hands and feet, and stiffness of tendons and meridians, apply patches to both Jianjing (GB21), both Quchi (LI11), both wrist points, both Xiyuan (ST2), and both Zusanli (ST36) acupoints; 5. To treat lower back pain, apply a patch to the Mingmen (GV4) acupoint; 6. To treat diarrhea caused by exposure to cold, apply a patch to the Xiawan (ST21) acupoint;7. For phlegm-induced wheezing, shortness of breath, and coughing, apply patches to the Huagai, Feishu, and Shanzhong acupoints; 8. For stomach pain caused by qi stagnation, apply a patch to the Shangwan acupoint; 9. For unilateral or bilateral headaches, apply patches to the Fengmen acupoint and both Taiyang acupoints; 10. For men with seminal emission and reddish-white discharge, and for women with reddish-white vaginal discharge, irregular menstruation, uterine cancer, or metrorrhagia, apply patches to the Yinjiao and Mingmen acupoints;11. To treat small intestine hernia, apply to the Bladder and Dantian acupoints; 12. To treat pain caused by Qi stagnation, apply to both Zhangmen acupoints; 13. To treat cold-heat foot disorders, apply to the Zusanli and Sanyinjiao acupoints; 14. To treat all types of unexplained swellings and abscesses, various malignant sores and breast disorders, trauma from falls or blows, stagnant masses, overwork-induced injuries, internal injuries, and sprains, apply to the affected area.

Note

This ointment should not be applied in cases of severe heat syndromes or by pregnant women.
