Drug Formulation

1 liang of Digu Pi, 1 liang of Fen Cao, 1 liang of Northern Bupleurum, 1 liang of Qianhu,1 liang of Wuyao, 1 liang of Ephedra (with nodes intact), 1 liang of dried Pueraria root, 1 liang of Artemisia annua, 1 liang of Bitter Stalk, 1 liang of Anemarrhena, 1 liang of Tianxian藤, 1 liang of Northern Scutellaria, 0.5 liang of Ginseng, 0.5 liang of raw dried Rehmannia, 0.5 liang of Qin Jiao, 0.5 liang of softshell turtle shell, 0.5 liang of Astragalus (one formula adds Angelica sinensis and White Peony).

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients. For each dose, use 3 qian of the mixture, 1 zhan of water, 1 fen of wine, and 1 piece of pork shank bone (roasted until charred, divided into 4 doses), along with 7 cun each of peach and willow twigs, and 5 apricot kernels (peeled, de-tipped, and crushed). Decoct until reduced to 7 fen, strain, and take while warm. Adding half a black plum is particularly effective.
