Drug Formulation

8 fen of star anise, 8 fen of Polygonum multiflorum, 8 fen of Eucommia ulmoides (stir-fried with green salt to remove fibers), 8 fen of green salt, and 8 fen of Cistanche deserticola (washed with wine to remove the floating husk).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take one large pork kidney, remove the tendons and membrane, and cut it into four slices. Alternately layer the powder between the slices, wrap in a lotus leaf, and cover with damp paper. Roast over low heat until cooked through.
