Earthworm (preferably small, red, alive, and with a white neck), 1 black-bone chicken egg.

Instructions for Use

Make a small hole in the chicken egg, insert the earthworm inside, seal the hole with rice paper, and steam it over rice until cooked. Have the child eat it. Eat one egg on the Day of the Beginning of Spring each year, and smallpox will never appear throughout one’s life. Whenever smallpox is prevalent, eating 1–2 eggs is highly effective; it may also be consumed on the Day of the Spring Equinox.
