Drug Formulation

He Shou Wu (fresh, red and white varieties) half a jin each (wash with rice water, slice with a bamboo knife, and divide into 4 batches. Steam in a sand pot and willow steamer; steam each batch once with black sesame seeds, mutton, wine, and black beans, then sun-dry), Huai Sheng Di (washed with wine) 4 liang, Ophiopogon (core removed) 4 liang,Asparagus Root (avoid contact with iron; remove core) 4 liang, Huai Prepared Rehmannia (use raw, wash with wine, mix with Amomum, soak in wine, then double-boil until black and soft) 4 liang, Huai Chinese Yam (stir-fried until brown) 4 liang, White Poria (mixed with human milk, steamed) 4 liang, Red Poria (mixed with cow’s milk, steamed) 4 liang,Goji berries 4 liang, Ginseng (stem removed) 4 liang, Deer antler gelatin (melted) 4 liang, White peony root (wine-fried) 2 liang, Suoyang (prepared with ghee) 2 liang, Sour jujube seeds (fried) 2 liang, Schisandra berries 2 liang, Achyranthes root (fried with salt and wine) 2 liang,Peony Bark 2 liang, Turtle Plastron (with skirt removed, prepared with ghee) 2 liang, Angelica Root (washed with wine) 2 liang, Alisma (hairs removed) 2 liang, Coptis (stir-fried with wine until golden) 2 liang, Dodder Seed (simmered in wine) 2 liang, Phellodendron Bark (stir-fried three times with salt, wine, and honey until golden) 2 liang.
