Drug Formulation

3–4 qian of ginseng, 3–4 qian of white atractylodes (roasted), 3–4 qian of angelica root, 5 qian of prepared he shou wu, and 8 fen of roasted licorice.

Instructions for Use

Add 1.5 zhong of water and decoct until reduced to 7 fen; take on an empty stomach. Re-decoct the residue; or use 1 zhong each of yin and yang water, decoct until reduced to 1 zhong, and treat the residue in the same manner. Let both mixtures stand overnight; the next morning, take 1 zhong while warm, and take another 1 zhong on an empty stomach after a meal. For those with significant stagnation of qi and blood, decoct with 1 zhong each of wine and water; alternatively, drinking several cups of wine after taking the medicine is also acceptable.
