Drug Formulation

One handful of sheep’s spine bones (with tail attached), 1 liang of Cistanche deserticola (soaked in wine overnight, wrinkled skin scraped off), 1 fen of Cuscuta chinensis (soaked in wine for 3 days, sun-dried, and ground into a separate powder), 3 stems of scallion whites (removing the roots and chopped), and 3 he of japonica rice.

Instructions for Use

Coarsely chop the spine bones; add 9 large bowls of water and simmer until reduced to 3 bowls. Strain out the residue. Add the bone broth to the rice along with the Cistanche and other ingredients, and cook into porridge until nearly done. Add the scallions and seasonings to taste. Once fully cooked, immediately stir in the Cuscuta seed powder and 2 he of wine. Consume on an empty stomach.
