Drug Formulation

1 liang of wild kudzu, 1 liang of rhinoceros horn, 1 liang of snake’s jaw, 1 liang of mangcao, 1 liang of aconite, 1 liang of platycodon, 1 liang of cimicifuga, 1 liang of fangfeng, 1 liang of Sichuan pepper, 1 liang of dried ginger, 1 liang of soft-shelled turtle shell, 1 liang of realgar, 1 liang of croton seed, 3 liang of salvia, 1 sheng of rhododendron flowers.

Benefits

For wind-induced toxic swelling, pain, numbness, and loss of sensation; scrofula and malignant sores; abscesses and boils causing swelling of the lower legs; and weakness or hemiplegia of the legs.

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients, soak them in 4 sheng of vinegar overnight, then add 5 jin of rendered pork fat. Simmer over low heat, bringing the mixture to a boil and then lowering the heat three times each, until the liquid turns a pale yellow; strain out the residue. Rub this mixture onto the affected area.

This formula must not be administered to promiscuous individuals; exercise caution.
