Drug Formulation

Mulberry ash (as needed), Aconite root slices 2 qian, Rhubarb slices 2 qian, Licorice 1 qian, and half a spoonful of fine, purified lime.

Processing

Use genuine mulberry ash to extract two bowls of concentrated decoction; boil down to one bowl. Then add Aconite root slices and Rhubarb slices, and simmer over low heat until reduced to half a bowl. Add licorice root and boil for several minutes.then add the purified fine lime. Bring to a gentle boil 3–5 times. Filter through a single layer of silk and two layers of patterned paper, as if straining lacquer, then simmer until it forms a paste. Allow to cool, then mix in 5 fen of genuine bismuth sulfate (ground into a very fine powder) into the paste. Store in a sealed earthenware container.

Instructions for Use

Before use, wash the affected area thoroughly and pat dry. Just before application, mix in powdered borneol until evenly blended, then apply the mixture. Apply once daily; for severe cases, apply 5–7 times daily.
