Drug Formulation

1 liang of Evodia fruit (stems removed), 7 qian and a half of Coptis (finely ground), 1 liang of poppy husks (stems and pulp removed, thoroughly cleaned) (roasted over fire),Half a liang of Chebulic Myrobalan (pitted), half a liang of Sichuan Magnolia Bark (peeled, processed with ginger, lightly roasted), half a liang of White Peony Root, and half a liang of Cardamom (wrapped in damp paper and steamed over fire until tender).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder; form into pills the size of a paulownia seed using vinegar paste.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with rice water; for white dysentery, take with dried ginger decoction; for red dysentery, take with licorice decoction; for mixed red and white dysentery, take with licorice and dried ginger decoction. All doses should be taken before meals.
