Drug Formulation

8 liang of Prepared Rehmannia Root (boiled in clear water, mashed, and added to the formula), 4 liang of Cornus Officinalis (pits removed, mixed with wine, steamed, sun-dried, and stir-fried), 3 liang of Moutan Bark (roasted), 4 liang of Huai Yam (stir-fried until golden),Poria 3 liang (thoroughly mixed with human milk, sun-dried, and roasted), Alisma 2 liang (mixed with lightly salted water and stir-fried), Ophiopogon 3 liang (stir-fried), Schisandra 1 liang (each fruit cut into 2 slices with a copper knife, steamed with honey and wine, sun-dried, and roasted), Cinnamon Bark (coarse outer bark scraped off just before grinding) 1 liang (not exposed to fire), Processed Aconite Root 1 liang (sliced and roasted).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mash prepared Rehmannia root until smooth, mix it with the powder, and add refined honey. Pound the mixture thoroughly to form pills.

Instructions for Use

Take 4 qian per dose, taken on an empty stomach in the morning. For those with deficient lung qi, take with Shengmai San; for those with superficial heat that has not returned to its source, take with lightly salted water; for those with a predominance of yin deficiency, take with Dushenshen Decoction or plain water.
