Chinese Name : 阿胶膏

Drug Formulation

3 liang of donkey-hide gelatin (crushed, stir-fried until yellow and dry, then ground into powder), 3 pairs of white sheep kidneys (tendons and membranes removed, sliced, and finely ground), 3 liang of apricot kernels (soaked in hot water, skinned, tips and double kernels removed, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow, then ground into a paste), 2 liang of Chinese yam (pounded into powder), 1 handful of white leek (finely chopped), 4 liang of yellow cow ghee,4 liang of sheep kidney fat (boiled and strained).

Processing

Mix the above ingredients together, place them in a porcelain jar, and steam for half a day until the mixture forms a paste.
