Drug Formulation

1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of raw Rehmannia root, 1 liang of prepared Rehmannia root, 1 liang of Liu Jinu, 1 liang of Paulownia bark, 1 liang of men’s black hair (washed), 5 qian of frankincense, 5 qian of myrrh, 5 qian of dragon’s blood, 8 qian of yellow beeswax, 8 qian of white beeswax, and 1 qian of dragon bone (calcined and soaked in a child’s urine).

Processing

Combine the first six ingredients with 4 liang of sesame oil and simmer until they are completely dissolved. Strain out the residue. Return the oil to the pot, add the two types of wax, and stir continuously. Remove from heat and continue stirring until warm. Gradually add the four ingredients—frankincense, myrrh, dragon’s blood, and dragon bone—ground into a very fine powder, stirring thoroughly to blend. Allow to cool, then transfer to a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use

Carry this with you into battle; when an injured person is encountered, apply it to the wound and wrap the area with silk.
