Drug Formulation

1 jin 4 liang of genuine sesame oil, 1 liang of licorice, 5 qian of Eupatorium fortunei, 2 qian of Lonicera japonica flowers, 2 qian of Cnidium monnieri (dried, soaked in wine), 4 qian of ginseng, 4 qian of Asparagus cochinchinensis (core removed), 4 qian of Ophiopogon japonicus (core removed), 4 qian of raw Rehmannia glutinosa (washed in wine), 4 qian of prepared Rehmannia glutinosa (washed in wine), 4 qian of Polygala tenuifolia (boiled in licorice water, core removed),Dodder herb 4 qian, Achyranthes root (washed with wine) 4 qian, deer antler (roasted with butter, hair removed) 4 qian, tiger bone (roasted with butter) 4 qian, Sichuan续断 4 qian, Trichosanthes seed (shell removed) 4 qian,Cardamom (baked with bread) 4 qian, Cistanche (washed with wine, spines removed) 4 qian (add all of the above together), Large Aconite Root 1 piece (processed), Sea Dog Kidney 1 (processed), Apricot Kernels (peeled and tips removed), Cassia Bark, Lead Powder 8 liang (add gradually, stirring continuously with a locust twig until water drips and forms beads), Rosin 1 liang,beeswax 5 qian, realgar 2 qian, sulfur 2 qian, Yangqishi 2 qian, cinnabar 2 qian (add all together), agarwood 1 qian, frankincense 1 qian, cloves 1 qian, frankincense (processed) 1 qian, myrrh (processed) 1 qian, toad venom 1 qian, opium 1 qian, musk 1 qian (add all together).

Processing

Use a new iron pot and simmer over a fire fueled by mulberry wood. First, add sesame oil and licorice root, and simmer together for 5–7 boils; next, add the 17 ingredients including Eupatorium and simmer over low heat until charred, then strain out the residue; then add the 4 ingredients including Aconite and simmer until charred, then remove the residue completely;then add lead powder and stir continuously with a locust twig until water dripped onto the mixture forms beads; only then add beeswax and the other 6 ingredients, stirring until warm; finally, add agarwood and the other 8 ingredients, stir until well blended, transfer to a silver jar, seal tightly, and suspend in a well for 7 days to remove the toxic heat.

Instructions for Use

Apply a red silk patch to the Kidney Shu point, each weighing 7 qian; apply one to the Dan Tian, each weighing 4 qian. Leave on for 60 days, then remove; conception will occur upon sexual intercourse. If the Dan Tian area is hairy, apply the patch through a sheet of paper, secure it externally with soft silk, and frequently perform methods to invigorate the fire; the efficacy is remarkable.
