Drug Formulation

Turtle shell (remove the frills, roast with vinegar) half liang; Notopterygium (remove the root tip) 1 fen; Bupleurum (remove the shoots) 1 fen; Astragalus (chopped) half liang; Red Poria (remove the black skin) 1 fen; Raw Rehmannia (roasted) 1 fen;Mu Xiang 1 fen, Niuxi (soaked in wine, sliced, and baked) half liang, Tianlinggai (roasted with butter) half liang, Xuduan half liang, Tusizi (soaked in wine, pounded separately) half liang, Chuanxiong 1 liang, Huoxiang Ye 1 liang, Chen Jupi (soaked in hot water, white pith removed, and baked) 1 liang,Cornus officinalis 1 liang, Musk (ground) 1 fen, Angelica pubescens (root tip removed) 1 fen.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder. For each dose, take 1–2 qian of the powder, add 1 zhan of water and a pinch of salt, decoct until reduced to 7 fen, strain out the residue, and take on an empty stomach. Alternatively, mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
