Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of Chuanxiong, 1.5 liang of Huanglian, 1.5 liang of Danggui, 1.5 liang of Bai Jili (lightly roasted), 7 qian of Qianghuo, 7 qian of Sichuan pepper (seeds removed), 7 qian of Bai Zi, 1 liang of Jingjie spikes, 1 liang of Mimenghua, 1 liang of Ganju flowers, 1 liang of Cicada shells, 2 qian of Goulou, 2 liang of Peppermint leaves,2 liang of Schisandra berries (lightly roasted), Lycium bark (soil removed, dried in an oven), snake shed skin (boiled in licorice decoction, then dried in an oven), and 2 liang of Equisetum (knots removed, soaked overnight in a child’s urine, then dried in an oven; one version omits Notopterygium and Equisetum).

Instructions for Use

Chew thoroughly and swallow with clear tea after a meal. For cases caused by internal obstruction, take with a decoction of Wood Fragrance; for dim vision, take with a decoction of Angelica sinensis—wine may also be used; for women experiencing blood-induced fainting, take with a decoction of Angelica sinensis; for children with smallpox, measles, corneal opacities, or carbuncles, take with a decoction of Pinellia tuber and Eupatorium fortunei.
