Ginseng, Aconite, and Three Whites Decoction,Yin-type rashes. In cases of internal injury to spleen yang, where yang is suppressed by yin, the spots are faint and sparse, mostly pale red in color, sometimes mixed with pale gray or a whitish sheen. There may be as many as six or seven spots, or as few as three or five; they resemble mosquito bites and appear only on the hands and feet, or may be slightly visible on the abdomen. Though they resemble spots, they are actually fine rashes. The limbs are cold and numb,lethargy and a strong desire to lie down; a preference for sleeping with the body turned inward; a mental state that is neither fully awake nor fully asleep, fluctuating between clarity and confusion; a soft voice and short breaths; shortness of breath and reluctance to speak; stools are often loose; urine is clear and white or pale yellow; the tongue coating is white, tender, and slippery, or plump, tender, and black with a lustrous sheen.

Drug Formulation

1.5 qian of aged Dong-type ginseng, 1.5 qian of raw Atractylodes macrocephala, 1.5 qian of Poria cocos, 1.5 qian of roasted white peony root, 1 qian of black aconite root, 0.8 fen of lightly roasted licorice, two slices of fresh ginger, and two large red dates.
