Drug Formulation

2 liang of Aconite (raw), 1 liang of Sichuan pepper, 1 liang of Phytolacca root, 1 large Aconite tuber, 1 liang of Cinnamon bark, 1 liang of White Polygonum, 1 liang of Aglaia, 1 liang of Dried Ginger, 5 Aconite tubers, and 1 liang of Rhododendron.

Processing

Coarsely chop the ingredients, place them in a silk bag, and steep in 3 dou of wine for 5 days in spring and summer, or 7 days in fall and winter; then strain out the solids.

Instructions for Use

Begin with half a he, gradually increasing to 2–3 he; pound the residue into a powder, take one fangcun bi with wine three times daily, until symptoms subside. In summer, to prevent the wine from turning sour, cover it with an oiled cloth and place it near water in a well to keep it from souring.
