Drug Formulation

4 liang of large trichosanthes peel (divided into 4 portions: 1 liang each of Atractylodes lancea, radish seeds, star anise, and charred lacquer; each of the above 4 ingredients is used to stir-fry one portion of trichosanthes peel until golden and crisp), 2 liang of cyperus rhizome (stir-fried with vinegar), 1 liang of areca nut, 1 liang of Corydalis tuber (soaked in wine, then stir-fried),Curcuma zedoaria 2 liang, Atractylodes lancea 1 liang (soak these two ingredients in a child’s urine with 30 black beans for one day and one night; boil until dry; stir-fry until golden and crisp; remove the beans).

Processing

Grind the six ingredients—including Zhi Ke and Xiang Fu—into a fine powder. Simmer the four ingredients—Cang Zhu, Bu Gu, Aniseed, and Lacquer—into a concentrated decoction. Add a small amount of vinegar to mix with Shen Qu powder to form a paste, then roll into pills the size of mung beans.
