Wind-Dampness-Relieving Qianghuo Decoction

Wind-Dampness-Relieving Qianghuo Decoction,Dampness is contracted from external sources; symptoms may include pain throughout the body, a heavy sensation in the head as if veiled, or even fainting. When wind and dampness combine—with dampness entering from the outside—this may result from prolonged overcast skies and heavy rain, dampness rising after clear weather, morning fog and dew, prolonged lying on damp ground, long journeys involving wading through water, or exposure to miasma and mountain mist. Symptoms include heaviness and pain in the head and body, which may progress to fainting, loose stools, and skin edema.Dampness may resemble jaundice (a condition characterized by a yellowish-black, dull complexion; if accompanied by pain throughout the body, it is a dampness disorder, not jaundice, and should be treated as such). Cholera caused by dampness, as well as conditions resulting from dryness or dampness—such as heaviness in the limbs, discomfort in the joints, and stagnation and fullness in the chest and diaphragm—may occur. When wind and dampness surge upward, the head feels heavy as if wrapped, as if something were shrouding it, and may be accompanied by fever.
