Drug Formulation
1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of Aconite (peeled and with navel removed, used raw), 1 liang of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 1 liang of Saposhnikovia divaricata, 1 liang of Sichuan Cimicifuga, 1 liang of Sophora japonica seeds, 1 liang of Asarum (stems removed), 1 liang of Platycladus orientalis leaves, 1 fen of peach kernels (soaked in boiling water, with skin, tip, and double kernels removed),Apricot Kernels (soaked in boiling water, with skin, tip, and double kernels removed) 1 fen, Licorice 1 fen, White Mulberry Root Bark 1 fen, Bletilla 1 fen, Astragalus 1 fen, White Silkworm 1 fen, Willow Twigs 1 handful (decocted, not left hanging), Yellow丹 7 liang, Realgar half a liang, Cinnabar 1 fen (finely ground), Sulfur 2 fen (finely ground),musk 1 qian (finely ground), white angelica root 1 fen, myrrh 1 fen, dragon’s blood 1 fen (finely ground), borneol 1 fen (finely ground), beeswax 4 liang (finely ground), oil 1 jin and a half.

Processing
Except for the ground ingredients and the orpiment, finely grind all the above herbs. First, heat the oil until it boils, then add the chopped herbs. Simmer until the Angelica dahurica turns yellowish-red, then strain through cotton. Wipe the cauldron clean, then simmer again. Add the orpiment and stir with a willow wood spatula until the mixture turns black. Immediately add the beeswax and melt it completely; when drops fall into water and form beads that do not disperse, add the powdered herbs one by one, stirring until evenly mixed. Store in a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use
For back abscesses, mix 1 qian with hot wine and take orally; apply externally as well. For other conditions, apply externally. For tiger or leopard bites, wash the affected area with licorice water before applying the powder.
