Drug Formulation

Refined oil (10 jin of sesame oil; 21 cun of peach wood, 21 cun of willow wood, and 21 cun of locust branches; steeped for 21 days; boiled until charred, then strained; add Angelica sinensis, Trichosanthes kirilowii, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Asarum sieboldii, Angelica dahurica, Polygonatum odoratum, Rubia cordifolia, Paris polyphylla, Dipsacus asper, and the flesh of Croton tiglium; boil together until charred, then strain) 1.5 jin; Angelica dahurica 5 liang; Saposhnikovia divaricata 5 liang.

Processing

During boiling, add 1 egg; when cooked, remove it, peel it, and return it to the pot to boil until dry and remove the residue. Add the egg and boil again until a person’s shadow can be seen in the mixture; remove the egg and take the pot off the heat. Add 5 liang of white beeswax and 2 liang of yellow beeswax, melt and mix thoroughly, then remove from heat.

Instructions for Use

To use, steam with boiling water until softened; while still hot, spread evenly onto Gongchuan paper using a bamboo spatula; allow to cool, then cut and apply; change several times a day.
