Drug Formulation
1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of licorice, 1 liang of red peony root, 1 liang of kudzu root, 1 liang of Asarum, 1 liang of Phellodendron bark, 1 liang of ephedra (with roots and nodes removed), 1 liang of Sophora flavescens, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of cinnamon bark, 1 liang of Sichuan pepper, and 1 liang of Saposhnikovia root (with the root tip removed).

Processing
Wash the ingredients with water, chop them finely, dry them in an oven, and divide the mixture into four portions.

For boils and abscesses on the back that, after lancing, continue to discharge pus and fluid uncontrollably, or that have been affected by external wind-toxin, causing severe swelling and pain.
Instructions for Use
For each portion, use 5 sheng of water and decoct until reduced to 3 sheng. Wash the sore with the warm decoction; stop as soon as the liquid cools. Wipe with a hot towel and apply a separate ointment.
