Drug Formulation

Cinnabar (in large chunks the size of a wall) 1.5 liang, Polygala (soaked in hot water, core removed) 1.5 liang, Cornus officinalis 1.5 liang, Psoralea corylifolia (roasted) 1.5 liang, Acorus tatarinowii (soaked in rice washing water overnight) 1.5 liang,Stone Lotus Seed (peeled) 1.5 liang, Poria (peeled) 1.5 liang, Cypress Seed (ground separately) 1.5 liang, Prepared Rehmannia Root (plump and firm; washed with water, soaked in wine overnight, steamed five times, sun-dried or oven-dried) 1.5 liang, Ba Ji (core removed) 1.5 liang,Sour jujube seeds (boiled in water until it comes to a boil 1–2 times, shelled, and stir-fried until purple) 1.5 liang, Northern schisandra (stems removed) 1.5 liang, ginseng (root base removed) 1.5 liang, aconite root (roasted, skin and navel removed) 1.5 liang, dried Chinese yam 3 liang, agarwood 1 liang (not exposed to fire).

Processing

Separately, use 3 wild boar hearts,1.5 liang of lampwick. Wrap the cinnabar in lampwick, place it inside the boar’s heart, wrap the exterior with lampwick, and secure it with hemp thread. Boil in a silver or stone vessel for one day and one night. Discard the remaining materials. Grind the cinnabar to a very fine powder. Grind all the other herbs into a fine powder. Separately, use 1 sheng of medicinal wine to simmer the agarwood and Chinese yam powders into a paste. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills each time, with jujube tea before meals.
