Drug Formulation

Magnolia Bark 4 liang (peeled), Ginger 2 liang (pounded together and dried in an oven), Rhubarb 2 liang, Bitter Orange Fruit 0.5 liang (fried with wheat bran and pitted), Sodium Silicate 1.5 liang.

Grind all ingredients except sodium silicate into a coarse powder.

For acute spasm and constipation lasting 10 or more days.

Instructions for Use

Take 10 qian per dose; add 2 zhan of water, decoct until reduced to 1.5 zhan, strain out the residue, add half a qian bi of sodium silicate, stir well, and decoct for another 2–3 boils; take while slightly warm.
