Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Separately, decoct 5 qian of licorice root in water, then mix it thoroughly with the powder until the consistency is just right—neither too dry nor too wet. Place the mixture in a copper spoon, then sprinkle 6 qian of camphor evenly over the herbs. Cover the mixture with a clean bowl, seal it tightly with salt mud, and heat it over low heat for three sticks of incense. Avoid using high heat, as this may cause the mixture to scorch. Once the process is complete, collect the white residue from the bottom of the bowl, store it in a tightly sealed porcelain jar to prevent exposure to air and loss of potency. If there is any remaining mixture after the first heating, mix it with licorice decoction, add camphor, and repeat the heating process according to the same method.
