Chinese Name : 苁蓉膏
Drug Formulation
Cistanche (with rough outer skin removed) 1 liang, Pinellia (raw, coarsely chopped) 1 liang,1 liang of cooked dried Rehmannia, half a liang of Angelica sinensis, half a liang of Sichuan pepper (seeds and closed pods removed; stir-fried until sweating), half a liang of Asarum (stems and leaves removed), half a liang of Bird’s Beak (peel removed), half a liang of Snake’s Mouth Grass, half a liang of White Angelica, half a liang of Licorice, half a liang of Cinnamon (coarse bark removed), 7 stems of Leek whites, and 2 jin of lard.

Processing
Except for the pork fat, coarsely chop all the herbs. Mix them with half a sheng of vinegar and let them sit overnight. First, heat the pork fat until it boils; then add the herbs and simmer until the Angelica dahurica turns reddish-black. Strain through cotton, then pour into a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use
Apply to the affected area three times daily.
