Drug Formulation

3 liang of Paeonia lactiflora, 2 liang of Glycyrrhiza uralensis (roasted), 3 liang of fresh ginger (sliced), 3 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala, 3 liang of Poria cocos, and 12 jujubes (split).

Benefits

For Taiyang syndrome patients who have taken Guizhi Decoction or undergone purgation, yet still experience stiffness and pain in the head and neck, a smoldering fever, no sweating, fullness and mild pain in the epigastrium, and difficulty urinating.

Instructions for Use

Boil with 8 sheng of water until reduced to 3 sheng; strain out the residue and take 1 sheng while warm. If urination becomes normal, the condition is cured. The original text states: “Gui Zhi Decoction”; here, cinnamon twig is omitted and poria and white atractylodes are added.
