Drug Formulation

1 jin of Coptis and Coptis Rhizome (coarsely pounded; simmer in 2 dou of water in a copper or silver vessel overnight), half liang of calcined horse-tooth stone.

Processing

Combine the two ingredients, decoct in water, and just before it is done, add the seeds of the Rui plant and borneol; form into pills the size of a marble.

For patients, take one pill at once, mix it with boiled water from a pig’s gallbladder, and apply it frequently to the eye.
