Processing
Grind the ingredients into a very fine powder and mix with sesame oil to form a thick paste.
Benefits
For sycamore-induced toxic sores that have become gangrenous and foul-smelling, with oozing pus and serous fluid, where other treatments have failed; also effective for various stubborn toxic sores and chronic ulcers.
Instructions for Use
First, place 1 liang of Atractylodes lancea and 3 qian of Sichuan pepper in 5 bowls of water over the affected area and decoct until reduced to 4 bowls. Pour the decoction into a jar and position the affected area directly over the jar’s opening;fume the wound with the hot steam; when the liquid has cooled slightly, pour it into a basin and rinse the wound with it. Pat dry with a clean cloth, then apply this ointment to the wound, cover with paper, and secure tightly with a soft cloth strip to prevent blood flow. Change the dressing every 3 days. Alternatively, a decoction of scallions, mugwort, and licorice may be used for fumigation and washing.
Note
After recovery, avoid spicy and greasy foods.
