Drug Formulation
4 liang of Liu Jinu Grass, 2 liang of Angelica sinensis, 2 liang of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 2 liang of Angelica dahurica, 2 liang of Phellodendron amurense, 2 liang of Coptis chinensis, 2 liang of Sappanwood, 2 liang of Aconitum carmichaeli, 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 1 liang of Clove, 1 liang of Croton tiglium seed, 1 liang of Aconitum carmichaeli (raw), 3 liang of Rheum palmatum,3 liang of centipede, 3 liang of pangolin, 1 white flower snake, 30 cun of peach twigs, 30 cun of willow twigs.

Processing
Soak the above ingredients in 2 jin of sesame oil for 5 days, then simmer over low heat with mulberry wood until the mixture turns black. Remove the dregs, let it cool, and filter thoroughly. Take 1.5 jin of the liquid and return it to the pot to simmer until a drop of water forms a bead. Add 3 liang of sifted orpiment and 2 liang of to-seng, then continue simmering over low heat until it stops boiling;then add 8 liang of beeswax and simmer until a drop of liquid forms a bead; remove from heat and allow to cool slightly; then add 1 liang of frankincense oil, 1 liang of desiccated myrrh, 1 qian 5 fen of bismuth subnitrate, 2 qian of musk, 2 qian of mercury oxide, 5 qian of dragon’s blood, and 5 qian of asafoetida, stirring them into the ointment one by one until the mixture cools completely.
