Cinnabar 3 liang, realgar 3 liang, orpiment 3 liang.

Processing
First, finely grind the realgar.Place the two ingredients—female realgar—in a bamboo tube and bury it in the ground facing north. Remove it after 3 days; first pour out half of the contents, place cinnabar (also finely ground) in the center, then cover it with the remaining half. Next, plug the tube’s opening with mica powder (extracted by rubbing in a silk bag and sun-dried), and bury the tube in the ground, leaving only the opening exposed. Surround the opening with charcoal embers and burn it slowly for 21 days,until it has fully transformed into a liquid. Pour the medicinal liquid into a copper vessel and suspend it in a well for 5 days. If no well is available, simply fill a deep basin with 3–4 inches of water, place half a jin of soybeans inside, and set the vessel on the water’s surface; soaking it for 5 days in this manner is also effective. Then, expose it to the dew every night; retrieve it at sunrise. Wait until the medicinal liquid turns red; once ready, form it into pills the size of sesame seeds and store them securely.
Instructions for Use
If someone has died suddenly, place one pill in their mouth and they will revive; for ordinary people, take one pill on the first day of each lunar month, and you will remain free of illness for the rest of your life. If poisoned, the toxin will be expelled naturally.
