Drug Formulation

1 qian of Pangolin Scale, 1 qian of Licorice, 1 qian of Fangfeng, 1 qian of Myrrh, 1 qian of Red Peony Root, 6 fen of White Angelica, 1 qian of Angelica Sinensis Tips, 1 qian of Frankincense, 1 qian of Fritillary Bulb, 1 qian of Trichosanthes Root, 1 qian of Horn Thistle, 3 qian of Honeysuckle, and 3 qian of Dried Tangerine Peel.

Benefits

For all types of heat-toxin-induced abscesses, boils, sores, and ulcers characterized by redness, swelling, heat, and pain, whether pus has formed or not.Idiopathic malignant sores, back abscesses, brain abscesses, temple abscesses, buttock abscesses, gangrenous ulcers, scrofula, syphilis, anal abscesses, scrotal abscesses, mastitis, smallpox carbuncles and smallpox toxins, and burning pain in smallpox lesions.

Instructions for Use

Use 3 bowls of good wine and simmer until reduced to 1½ bowls. If the condition affects the upper body, take after a meal; if the lower body, take before a meal. Additionally, drink 3–4 cups of wine to enhance the medicine’s efficacy; this regimen must not be altered.

Note

Avoid sour or weak wine and iron utensils; after taking the decoction, lie on your side to sleep—the pain will subside and you will recover. Avoid bean sprouts, vegetable starch, greasy foods, and similar items; do not take this remedy once the lesion has already ulcerated.
