Cover this with gold leaf before adding the cinnabar; cover the cinnabar with another layer of gold leaf, then pour in another half liang of honey.cover the honey with approximately 3 qian of powdered goji root bark (more is acceptable); press down firmly to compact it. Seal the box’s seams with a mixture of honey and powdered cinnabar; ensure the seal is airtight. Next, seal the box with a layer of salt, paper, and mud one finger thick. Allow it to dry, then place it on level ground. Mound the box with fine ash mixed with vinegar, shaping it into a small mound. Use one cheng of charcoal to build a fire around the top and calcine it;Wait until the fire has completely died down after one night, then remove the box, remove the clay, and open it. The cinnabar will have turned an iron-like color; bury it in raw yellow soil for one night to remove the fire toxicity. Grind it to a very fine powder, then use a paste made from date pulp or glutinous rice porridge to form pills. Make 40 pills per liang, and air-dry them in the shade.
