Drug Formulation

Pinellia tuber 8 liang (preferably large), Southern Pinellia 8 liang, White Alum 8 liang, Soapberry 8 liang, Fresh Ginger 8 liang (soak the above ingredients in water for 2 days; boil them together until the Southern Pinellia no longer has white spots; remove the Soapberry; use only the three ingredients—Southern Pinellia, Pinellia tuber, and Ginger—each sliced, sun-dried, and ground into powder; then mix with the remaining herbs), Dried Tangerine Peel 4 liang,Shenqu 4 liang (roasted), Barley Malt 4 liang (roasted), Coptis 4 liang (roasted with wine), Cyperus Rhizome 4 liang (soaked in a child’s urine), Atractylodes 4 liang, Perilla Seeds 3 liang (roasted), Apricot Kernels 3 liang (skin and tip removed), Hawthorn 3 liang,Zhishi 3 liang (pulp removed, stir-fried with wheat bran), Huangqin 3 liang (dried slices, stir-fried with wine), Houpo (processed with ginger) 3 liang, Qingpi 1 liang 5 qian (pulp removed), dried Kudzu root 1 liang 5 qian, Fushen 1 liang, Chuanxiong 1 liang, Huoxiang 5 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with the previous powder, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed using a paste made from flour and fresh ginger juice.
