Benefits

If a child develops a toxic sore on the third day after birth—fine as needle-pricks, red as a crimson cloud—which merges into a single patch after three days, causing the skin to peel off at the slightest touch and the entire body to feel as if on fire—this is known as “Blood-Cloud Sore.”

Instructions for Use

Place the two ingredients into the oil and simmer until it turns as black as coal. Strain the oil to remove the residue, then place it in a basin of water to dissipate the heat.Take 10 hard-boiled eggs, remove the whites and keep the yolks. Mash them finely in a small copper ladle and simmer until yellow foam rises to the surface, then until the mixture turns dark yellow, and finally until it is extremely charred black and blue smoke begins to rise—this indicates the oil is forming. Continue heating gradually until all the oil is extracted, then cool it in a basin of water to release the heat. Combine it with the sesame oil, filter thoroughly, and set aside for use.Next, take 1 liang of rhubarb; sun-dry half of it, and stir-fry the other half with wind-dried lime until the lime turns the color of peach blossoms. Discard the lime and retain the rhubarb; let it cool on the ground to release its heat, then grind both into a fine powder. Add 5 qian of rosin, grind into a powder, and place it inside a scallion stalk. Tie the opening of the scallion with ramie thread, then boil it in a copper ladle. Once the scallion turns yellow and is cooked through, remove the scallion and grind the rosin into a fine powder.Take 5 qian of Sichuan Phellodendron bark, remove the coarse outer bark; dry half in the sun, and stir-fry the other half thoroughly with pig bile until the lime turns the color of peach blossoms. Grind both into a fine powder. Take 5 qian of water-floated indigo powder. Mix all these ingredients with the decoction and blend thoroughly into the medicinal oil. Apply gradually, following the same method as for the “Rubbed Palms Pill.”
