Drug Formulation

1 jin of black pharbitis (half raw, half roasted; take 5 liang of the powder), 4 liang of rhubarb (soaked in wine, sun-dried), 4 liang of acorus, 4 liang of curcuma, 4 liang of soapberry (pits removed), 4 liang of artemisia, 4 liang of trichosanthes peel (pulp removed), 4 liang of betel nut (all raw), and 1 liang of wood fragrant.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Crush large soapberries to remove the seeds, decoct them into a concentrated broth, strain out the residue, and use the liquid to cook a starch paste to form pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

For acute, excess conditions: 2 qian; for chronic, deficiency conditions: 1 qian. Take with plain hot water. For children, reduce each dose by half. For conditions caused by food stagnation, take with a decoction of the same ingredients; for constipation, take with Sesame Seed Decoction; for difficulty urinating, take with Juncus and Akebia Decoction.
