Drug Formulation
1 set of placenta (must be from a healthy woman who gave birth to a male fetus via vaginal delivery; wash thoroughly; place in a clay pot separated by 3 or 5 bamboo strips; cut a piece of cattail fiber to serve as a support; place the placenta on the cattail fiber; pour white wine underneath—do not allow the placenta to stick to the pot—and steam until thoroughly cooked using the steam from the wine), 1 liang 5 qian of ginseng, 2 liang of Angelica sinensis, 2 liang of raw Rehmannia (washed with wine and steamed until tender),1 liang of Chinese yam, 1 liang of Asparagus root (core removed), 1 liang of Achyranthes root (soaked in wine), 8 qian of Phellodendron bark (roasted), 8 qian of Eucommia bark (stir-fried with ginger juice and wine until the fibers break), 1 liang 5 qian of Ophiopogon tuber (core removed), and 5 qian of Schisandra berries.
