Drug Formulation

4 liang of Coptis (wash thoroughly; soak in 2 sheng of children’s urine overnight; strain out the residue and use the liquid; quench with a mixture of reed, licorice, and gypsum until all liquid is absorbed; retain the gypsum for use); 12 liang of the “Fang Lu Gan Shi” mixture; 6 liang of high-quality yellow lead oxide (water-floated); 3 qian of blackfish bone (burned until charred); 3 qian of frankincense; 3 qian of Angelica sinensis; half a qian of white cloves; a small amount each of musk and mercury oxide;1 qian of realgar (ground to a fine powder, mixed with water in a bowl, placed in a hot water bottle, and left until dry).

Processing

Grind each of the above ingredients into a powder and store them separately. Take 20 liang of white sand honey, refine it to remove the wax, then add the powders of reed, licorice, and gypsum, stirring continuously without stopping. Next, add the orpiment and the remaining herbal powders, stirring continuously without stopping until the mixture turns purple and no longer sticks to the hands. Roll it into small cylinders.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pellet at a time, dissolve it in a small amount of freshly drawn water, and apply it frequently to the eyes.

Note

Avoid alcohol, wet noodles, pork, and buckwheat.
