Drug Formulation

1 liang of ginseng, 2 areca nuts, 2 cardamom seeds, 1 liang of wood fragrant, 1 liang of poria, 4 liang of mercury (boiled in water for 1 fu, then ground into the flesh of a jujube until all flecks are removed), 1 liang of myrrh, 1 liang of green tangerine, 8 liang of angelica root, 1 piece of unwormed soapberry, and half a liang of dragon’s blood.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Set aside half of the mixture. To the remaining half, add 21 castor beans (toasted over a lamp flame) and 21 apricot kernels. Mix everything together with a wheat flour paste to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Mix the remaining half of the powder with refined honey to form a paste, and pound it 1,000 times. When taking, roll the mixture into pills the size of a mung bean; take 5–7 pills per dose. Prepare the decoction as needed.
