Drug Formulation

Half a jin of white salt, 2 liang of green salt, 2 liang of black pharbitis, 2 liang of sour pomegranate peel, 1.5 liang of realgar, 1 liang of earthworm (cleaned of soil), 1 liang of Sichuan melia fruit (pitted), 1 liang of Baiyao Decoction, 1 liang of fragrant white angelica, 1 liang of Wilfordia, 1 liang of patchouli leaves (cleaned of soil),1 liang of Asarum (leaves and soil removed), 1 liang of Angelica sinensis (washed and roasted), 1 liang of Epimedium, 1 liang of cuttlefish bone, 1 liang of prepared Rehmannia glutinosa (washed and roasted), 10 walnuts, 2 snake molts, half a liang of cicada molts, and 30 undamaged soap pods.

Processing

Except for the soap pods, which are not chopped, all other herbs are finely chopped. Soak them together in 1 dou of vinegar for 7 days, then remove the herbs; discard them and retain only the soap pods and vinegar.Dip the soap pods in vinegar and roast them over a fire fueled by mulberry wood ash; once dry, dip and roast again until all the vinegar has been absorbed. Then bake them dry and grind into a fine powder. Add 7 pairs of gallnuts and grind them together into a fine powder. For every 1 liang of the mixture, add half a qian of musk.

Instructions for Use

Apply to the teeth 1–2 times daily. On days of the Tiger (Yin), pluck 5–7 white whiskers; check again after a few days, and black whiskers will surely grow in the places where they were plucked.
