Processing

Take 5 jin of sesame oil and decoct the 48 ingredients, including Angelica sinensis, until they turn charred black. Strain out the residue and weigh the pure oil. For every jin of oil, add 8 liang of thoroughly washed and lightly roasted yellow丹 (huangdan), and process into a paste according to the method; while still warm, mix in the finely ground powders of the five ingredients, including Asafoetida; only after the paste has cooled should Musk be added.
