Drug Formulation

1 pair of geckoes (coat with a small amount of vinegar and roast until reddish-brown), 1 liang of white sheep lung (cut into 3 fen pieces), half a liang of ophiopogon tuber (core removed, roasted), 1 fen of winterflower, 1 fen of Coptis chinensis.

Grind all the above herbs, except for the sheep’s lung, into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

First, take 1 fen of the sheep’s lung. Grind it finely in a sand mortar until it becomes a paste. Heat one medium bowl of ash-free wine until it simmers with small bubbles, then add the sheep’s lung. Next, add 3 qian of the powdered medicine and stir until well blended. Have the patient lie down without a pillow, using a cloth mat to support the lower back while lying on their back, and swallow the mixture slowly—do not swallow too quickly. For chronic cases, do not exceed three doses.
