Processing

Starting on the day of the Frost’s Descent solar term, mix wheat bran daily with snails, earthworms, persimmon frost, Trichosanthes root frost, and ancient coins (calcined in vinegar and ground into powder) in equal parts (70% wheat bran to 30% medicinal ingredients). Shape the mixture into small pellets. Administer 12 pellets each at the hours of Mao and You, then confine the duck in a cage to prevent it from moving about excessively.Collect the excrement in a separate container. On the day of the Minor Snow solar term, slaughter the duck. Remove the throat bone along with the windpipe and lungs (when slaughtering, pierce the abdomen with a knife; do not cut the throat, and avoid contact with water), and place them on a tile to bake until dry, turning them into charcoal while preserving their essence;Separately, take duck droppings collected within the past month, rinse them with clean water to remove impurities, and let them settle until cool. While still damp, grind them to a very fine powder, let the mixture settle, drain off the water, and place them on a tile to bake until dry, preserving their essential properties. Combine this charcoal with the previous charcoal, grind them together into a fine powder, add 49 snails (baked until golden brown), and use the rims of 7 old Shouzhou tobacco pipes(use only the raised ring; discard the rest), wash off the tobacco stains, lightly toast both items over a fire, grind them together into a very fine powder, then mix thoroughly with the two types of charcoal. Seal in a porcelain bottle and store in a low-tide area to remove any residual heat.

Benefits

Laryngeal obstruction.

Instructions for Use

Just before use, add a small amount each of the following five finely ground powders: borneol, borax, human fingernail (calcined until yellow), human nasal white, and duck-bill gallstone (in a ratio of 70% charcoal to 30% herbs), and blow the mixture into the throat frequently. Even if the throat is completely blocked, this will open a small passage; it is also effective to take a small amount mixed with honey water.
