Processing

Use a clay or silver pot lined with a cloth towel at the bottom. First, prepare two bags made of boiled silk; place half of the ginseng into the cinnabar bag, then cover it with the remaining half of the ginseng.then steam them in a pot over a fire fueled by mulberry wood. In a separate silver pot, boil water to replenish any liquid lost from the jar; add it gradually as needed. Carefully regulate the heat to maintain a steady flame—do not overcook the mixture, nor allow the fire to die out. Repeat this process once every 7 days: open the jar, remove the cinnabar-filled pouch, stir the ginseng, and return it to the pouch to steam again according to the previous method. After 49 days, extinguish the fire; discard the ginseng and retain only the cinnabar and gold leaf,Pound and grind these ingredients until extremely fine—until no flecks of gold leaf remain visible. Mix with glutinous rice flour paste to form pills the size of mung beans.
